Tanya Smith-Shiflett, founder of Unique Kitchens & Baths™, leads an award-winning kitchen and bath design studio known for handmade custom cabinetry and a fully integrated design and build approach.
What sets Tanya apart is her dual expertise. As an NKBA- kitchen and bath designer, she ensures every project is carried through exactly as envisioned. Unlike firms that outsource cabinetry, every piece is built by her team in the USA, allowing complete control over quality, timeline, and detail.
Clients receive a collaborative, guided experience from initial concept through installation, with fully custom cabinetry tailored for their home. The result is a seamless process, shorter lead times, and spaces that are both highly functional and deeply personal.

David Shiflett
CFO | MASTER MILLWORKER
David Shiflett is a Master Carpenter and retired certified builder with more than two decades of experience in residential construction and fine millwork. A Maryland native, he began working in the trades at a young age, quickly earning a reputation for precision, reliability, and expert craftsmanship.
After years of building custom homes and cabinetry, David joined Unique Kitchens & Baths™ in 2017 alongside his wife, Tanya. Together, they built an award-winning kitchen and bath design studio and custom cabinet company centered on American-made, fully custom cabinetry.
As CFO and Master Millworker, David oversees every piece of cabinetry produced by the team. His deep understanding of materials, joinery, and construction methods ensures each piece meets the highest standards of quality, durability, and performance.
The result is cabinetry that is not only beautiful, but built to last for generations.
