Unique Kitchens and Baths was founded in 2017 by NKBA Kitchen Designer Tanya Smith-Shiflett and her husband, David Shiflett, a Master Carpenter and ​Custom Cabinet Maker. We specialize in creating exceptional kitchen and bath designs and are proud to offer custom cabinetry of the highest quality in the industry.​ Our British-inspired inset custom cabinetry and modern full-overlay cabinetry is handcrafted here in the USA to provide functionality in a variety of spaces. From kitchens and baths to any area in your home, our cabinetry will enhance and beautify your living space.

Our expertly trained team of in-house kitchen designers works closely with homeowners, architects, builders, and designers to transform their vision into reality. If you are a trade professional and already have a design, we are happy to quote your design and build your cabinetry. We also offer Trade design packages to help with those design layouts.
Located just 15 minutes from the BWI Airport, our 5,000 sq. ft. showroom showcases our beautifully handmade cabinetry and exceptional designs. We invite you to experience our products firsthand in a space designed to inspire. We also have showrooms across the country with our beautiful cabinetry on display. All of our cabinetry is proudly handmade in the USA, ensuring the highest quality and craftsmanship the industry has to offer. With a lead time of just 12 weeks from design approval to delivery, we make it easy for clients nationwide to access our exceptional offerings, complete with free delivery. OWNER & FOUNDER
Tanya Smith-Shiflett
Tanya has always believed that the kitchen is, in fact, the heart of the home. She has always been passionate about balancing function and beauty in the rooms we use most. While working full-time in medical sales, she began helping her husband’s building company part-time with kitchen layouts. Her innate ability to create beautiful and functional kitchens promoted her to become the founder of Unique Kitchens & Baths. Since 2005, Tanya has been in the kitchen design community, expanding her skills and honing her expertise. Today, she works closely with her in-house team of designers at UKB to create timeless spaces.
CFO & CABINET MAKER
David Shiflett
David, a Maryland native, has been a certified builder since 2000 with carpentry and cabinetry being his specialty. As a master carpenter with a lifetime of experience, he is an expert on millwork. When Tanya decided to open her own kitchen and bath design studio, David turned his focus to crafting custom cabinetry for her clients. Now as CFO, he handles all cost in creating our beautiful cabinetry and ensures that process continues to run smoothly and oversees each piece as it is completed and before it is delivered to you.
